In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together mashed ripe bananas, milk, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Create a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in the wet ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
Gently fold in melted butter.
Heat a griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
Pour or scoop the batter onto the hot griddle, using ¼ cup for each pancake.
When bubbles start to form on the surface, flip the pancakes and brown the second side.
Repeat with remaining batter, then serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
