Start by gathering all your ingredients and preheating your oven to 350°F.
In a bowl, stir together the chili with beans and tomato sauce. This will create a flavorful base.
Scoop some of the mixture into the bottom of a 9x9” pan to prevent sticking.
Layer a tortilla on top, followed by more chili mixture and a sprinkle of cheese.
Continue layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
Cover the casserole with foil and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Remove from refrigerator and let sit for 10 minutes before baking.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until cheese is melted, uncovering in the last 10 minutes for a golden finish.
Or, microwave in 5-minute increments until hot and melted.
