Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits 8-count

Method
 

  1. Cook and crumble the breakfast sausage in a large nonstick pan. Sprinkle flour on top. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Add salt and pepper and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 3 minutes, remove from heat. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease a 10-inch cast iron pan. Cut each biscuits into four pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place around the edge of the pan so that they are touching. Spoon gravy into the middle. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until biscuits are browned.

Notes

  • If you want this recipe to be spicy: Use “Hot” sausage or add half a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes to the gravy.
