Ingredients

  • 1 package penne pasta 16-oz
  • 1 package smoked sausage 16-oz, sliced
  • 2 jars Alfredo sauce 15-oz each
  • Tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1 container sour cream 8-oz
  • 1 container ricotta cheese 15-oz
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese

Equipment

  • 12-inch Non-Stick Skillet
  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Chef Knives
  • Cutting Board
  • Rotary Cheese Grater

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF, and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by lightly spraying it with cooking spray. This step ensures your delicious bake won’t stick to the pan.
  2. Cook the penne pasta according to the package directions. Once al dente, drain and set aside. Make sure not to overcook the pasta, as it will continue to cook in the oven.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until it’s lightly browned. This step adds flavor and a bit of texture to the dish. Drain any excess fat after cooking.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked penne pasta, the browned smoked sausage, the Alfredo sauce, cajun seasoning, sour cream, ricotta cheese, garlic, chicken, and the beaten eggs. Mix everything well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  5. Spread the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish evenly. Make sure to distribute it well so that every bite will be flavorful.
  6. Sprinkle the top with the mozzarella cheese and the grated Parmesan cheese. Don’t be shy – the more cheese, the better!
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for about 30 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when it’s bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. This waits a moment for everything to set and makes serving easier.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite sides, and enjoy the delightful flavors of this Cajun Chicken Alfredo Bake!
