Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • Red and Green Decorative Sugar
  • 48 Hershey's Kisses Candy Cane flavor

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Blender
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350ºF. Make sure the temperature is just right to achieve that perfect golden brown finish on your cookies.
  2. Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper. This ensures that the cookies won’t stick and makes cleanup a breeze!
  3. Next, unwrap theHershey's Kisses and set them aside. You want them ready to go for when your cookies come out of the oven.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together thebutter andsugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2 to 3 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when it looks pale and has a smooth texture.
  5. Add in theegg andvanilla, mixing until well blended. You want to make sure everything is incorporated nicely.
  6. Mix in themilk, followed by the dry ingredients: theflour, baking soda, andsalt. Stir until just combined; don’t overmix to keep the cookies tender.
  7. If the dough feels sticky, cover it with plastic wrap and chill it in the fridge for about 30 to 60 minutes. This will make it easier to handle.
  8. Once the dough is ready, shape it into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in the decorative sugar, ensuring they’re nicely coated.
  9. Place the sugar-coated balls on the lined cookie sheet, spaced appropriately apart since they will spread as they bake.
  10. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are set and barely browned. You want them to look just a little underbaked for the best texture.
  11. Once out of the oven, allow the cookies to cool for about 2 to 3 minutes. Then, gently press aHershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie. This is the moment when the magic happens!
  12. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. This helps them maintain their shape and texture.
