- First, preheat your oven to 450 degrees F. This high temperature is crucial for getting that crispy skin. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil and placing a rack on top, giving the wings a little space to cook evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, baking powder, salt, and ground black pepper. This spice mix is what makes the wings flavorful and crispy.
- Take a large bowl and add the chicken wings. Use paper towels to pat them dry and remove any excess moisture. This step is key for ensuring they crisp up nicely in the oven.
- Sprinkle the spice mix over the wings and toss them well to ensure they are evenly coated. You want every wing to be perfectly seasoned!
- Arrange the wings on the baking rack in a single layer, making sure they aren’t touching each other. This helps the air circulate around them, contributing to that crispy texture.
- Slide the baking sheet into the oven and bake for 50 minutes. Halfway through, flip the wings using tongs to ensure they cook evenly. You’ll start to see them turning a beautiful golden brown.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the hot sauce, honey, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the butter has melted and everything is well combined.
- Once the wings are finished baking, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss them to coat them evenly.
- Finally, transfer the sauce-coated wings to a serving plate. Serve them warm and enjoy the crispy, spicy goodness!
Notes
