Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Fresh Cherries Preferably sour or tart varieties.
  • 1 unit Cherry Pitter For easily removing pits.
  • 1 unit Dehydrator or Oven Either can be used for drying.
  • 1 unit Dehydrator Trays or Baking Sheets For laying out cherries during dehydration.
  • 1 sheet Parchment Paper To prevent sticking when using a baking sheet.

Method
 

  1. Wash the cherries thoroughly under cold water, removing any bruised cherries.
  2. Pit the cherries using a cherry pitter.
  3. Place the cherries on dehydrator trays or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Set the dehydrator to 135°F (57°C) or preheat the oven to 150°F (65°C).
  5. Dehydrate for 6 to 12 hours until leathery and pliable.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  7. Store in an airtight container once cooled.
  8. Label containers with the date for reference.
