Notes

  • Can use quick oats or regular oats: Either works well in this recipe.
  • This recipe uses a regular frozen pie shell: Make sure to grab the regular and not the deep dish pie shell when you are at the grocery store.
  • Can use light corn syrup or dark corn syrup: I prefer Karo corn syrup.
  • You can use homemade crust or refrigerated pie crust: Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  • What can I add to the pie filling? Consider adding cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or toffee bits.
  • Cover the pie with aluminum foil: If it starts to get too brown.
  • Can I freeze Oatmeal Pie? Yes! Bake the pie, cool completely, cover with plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Store the pie: Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
