- Preheat your oven to 375° F.
- Line a 13” x 9” baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds.
- Add the granulated sugar and continue beating for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Next, add the egg and molasses, mixing on medium-low speed just until combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the sugar-molasses mixture, beating on low until just combined.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until the top appears dry.
- Once baked, remove the bars from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter for about 30 seconds until smooth.
- Adding vanilla and powdered sugar, mix well until fluffy and thick.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled bars, and dress them up with festive sprinkles!
