Ingredients
  

  • 16 ounces frozen cut green beans thawed
  • 8 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions divided

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a casserole dish, combine the thawed green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and 1 cup of crispy fried onions. Stir well.
  3. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until the mixture is hot and bubbling.
  4. Remove from oven, stir the casserole, and top with the remaining 1/2 cup of crispy fried onions. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • Using fresh green beans: If you prefer fresh over frozen, feel free to use them! Just cook them slightly before adding to the casserole to ensure they’re tender.
  • Make it ahead: This dish can be prepared a day in advance. Just cover it and store it in the fridge. When you’re ready to bake, add a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • Vegan option: For a plant-based twist, use a vegan cream of mushroom soup and plant-based milk.
