Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks Salted Butter
  • 3/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2-3 ounces Milk Chocolate Chunks
  • Flaky Sea Salt

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with some butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, melt together butter and 1/2 cup peanut butter on high power. Stir every 30 seconds until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from the microwave and stir in brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add in flour and baking powder, mixing just until incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Transfer the bowl to the freezer for about 5 minutes to chill until the dough is no longer warm to the touch.
  6. Once chilled, fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Spread half of the dough into the prepared baking dish. Dollop the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter over the top and gently swirl it into the dough with a knife or spatula.
  8. Add the remaining dough on top, but don’t worry if it doesn't fully cover the peanut butter. It will spread while baking.
  9. Transfer to the oven and bake for 20 to 22 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the milk chocolate chunks over the top. Return to the oven for another 1 to 2 minutes to gently melt the chocolate.
  11. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool completely before cutting into bars.
  12. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days and enjoy!
