Ingredients

  • 1 pound cottage cheese can sub ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 jars marinara sauce
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef cooked and drained
  • 1 pack lasagna noodles

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Start by placing cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese in a medium bowl. Stir them together until they’re well combined. This mixture will add creaminess to your layers.
  2. Next, grab your slow cooker and add a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom. This will help prevent the other ingredients from sticking.
  3. Now, it’s time to layer! Add a thin layer of the cooked and drained ground beef over the sauce.
  4. Take the lasagna noodles and break them to fit your slow cooker. Place a layer of noodles over the beef, making sure to cover the entire layer.
  5. Spread a layer of your cheese mixture on top of the noodles. Make sure to cover them evenly for a consistent flavor.
  6. Repeat the layers until you’ve used all the ingredients, making sure you finish with a layer of marinara sauce on top.
  7. Once layered, cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. This slow cooking time allows all those flavors to meld together into a delicious masterpiece.
  8. After the cooking time, check that the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve your Slow Cooker Lasagna hot and enjoy the hearty flavors!
