Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets
  • 1 cup Chili Oil store bought or homemade
  • 1/4 cup Hot Honey store bought or homemade
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons scallions, minced or chives

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Start by preparing your sweet chili sauce. If you don’t have a store-bought version, you can easily create your own using the chili oil, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes. Combine these ingredients in a jar and give it a good shake.
  2. Once your sauce is ready, take the salmon fillets and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Using a spoon or a brush, generously coat the surface of each salmon fillet with the sweet chili sauce.
  4. Next, I like to massage the sauce into the fillets gently.
  5. At this point, you can choose how you want to cook your salmon—bake or broil.
  6. If baking, preheat your oven to 420 degrees F.
  7. If broiling, place the salmon under the broiler and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Once the salmon is cooked to your liking, remove it from the oven or broiler.
  9. Finally, garnish your Sweet Chili Salmon with sesame seeds and scallions if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the deliciousness!
